Special Session on Optical Access

Purpose of the special session:
The purpose of the Special Session on Optical Access is to provide a forum for exchange and debate on the latest research topics and developments on optical access systems. Relevant topics for the existing sustainability and next generation deployments are the main interest of the session. Passive Technologies, Green applications, Smart devices, access Security and protection, True-Broadband applications, market challenges and Added Value Services are some of the key concepts that will be addressed in this Special Session. The Optical Access session stemmed out in 2009 as a joint session from two pillar project on acess at the time FP7 NoE BONE and FP7 Strep SARDANA. From there it has grown into a forum where Scientists, Engineers, Operators and Institutions working in this broad area. Submissions will be accepted in the shape of invited and contributed papers.

- Bandwidth scalability and flexibility in access
- Resilient access architectures
- Advanced services supports
- Monitoring in the access
- Management & Security
- Techno-economic studies
- Optical access deployment scenarios: actual and trends
- Advanced technologies and schemes in access (modulation formats, all-optical and electrical signal processing)
All submissions to special session should follow the regular submission procedure and will be subjected to peer review coordinated by the Special Session Chair(s) and TPC Chairs.
Paper format is the same as for the general conference.
The papers must be submitted through EDAS, under the respective special session track. See paper format for more details.

Deadline for paper submission is March 1, 2011.
