Project Management in ICT

Project management as a discipline has developed and emerged in almost every industry sector. Different project management methodologies attempt to offer practical and structured approach to planning, controlling costs, resources and expectations for achieving envisioned business goals.

The ICT industry is an extremely competitive environment where business success depends on the ability to rapidly offer effective technology solutions to customers, while continuously adapting to the evolving changes and leveraging innovations. This area particularly requests effective management of the complex ICT development and implementation activities. Considering the need for consistent quality and fast delivery, practitioners and scientists face the challenge of defining effective management practices for delivering performance and productivity.

The goal of this special session is to share and exchange project management experience within the IT context. The original submissions are solicited on topics such as case studies, different aspects of managing IT projects, as well as the software product and project lifecycles.

List of topics includes (but is not limited to):

• Project Management methodologies, tools and techniques
• Project Management processes
• Measuring projects and project management
• Risk management.
• Project quality management
• Project tracking
• Education strategies to improve project management

All papers will go through a regular review process, coordinated by the special session organizer(s).
