The presentation addresses needs and drivers for digital solutions of the Pulp and Paper Industry on the journey to transformation and adoption of Industry 4.0. Digital ANDRITZ’ Metris solutions are introduced in this context outlining the transformation of ANDRITZ into digitalization leadership.
Biography
Michael Bergmann received his MSc in Information Technologies with honours in 2008, his PhD in Electrical Engineering with honours in 2012 and his MSc in Electrical Engineering and Business in 2014 from Graz University of Technology, where he worked for the Institute of Communication Networks and Satellite Communications from 2008 to 2014. He contributed to international R&D projects in satellite communications and small satellite missions. Before joining the Department of Deployment and Innovation at Eutelsat SA in Paris in 2016, where he was concerned with innovative satellite communication techniques and IoT, he held a management position as executive officer at an SME. Since 2018, Dr Bergmann is heading the product management for Industrial IoT at the Pulp Drying Department of ANDRITZ AG in Graz, Austria. Regarding satellite communications, he is currently also consulting Joanneum Research Graz, a Styrian research company. He is author and co-author of scientific papers, reports and a patent in the field of digital communication techniques.
