PDF settings for Ghostview/Ghostscript

1. Ghostscript may be obtained from:

   http://www.ghostscript.org


2. Once you get and properly install Ghostscript: 

   Open GSview. 

   Open the Postscript file (for example "1234.ps"). 

   Visually check the layout and images.

   Select File/Convert, set Device to "pdfwrite".

   Click on Propeties and check the following:

	CompatibilityLevel	1.3
	EmbedAllFonts		true
	SubsetFonts		true
	ColorImageResolution	300
	GrayImageResolution	300
	MonoImageResolution	300

   Specify the output file name (for example, "1234.pdf").


3. Check the PDF file conformance according to IEEE guidelines.
   IEEE PDF eXpress will open on April 4, 2005.
