Report on ConTEL'94
The Conference dealt with various telecommunications-related topics. Authors of accepted papers (41 + 3 short notes) came from Austria, Croatia, Finland, Hungary, Norway, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland. United Kingdom and United States of America were also represented through Program Committee members, and some guests came also from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Germany and Macedonia. The total number of registered participants was 269 (332 announced).
The papers were presented in 10 two-track sessions, devoted to specific subjects. The out-of-sessions program included technical visits to Croatian Post and Telecommunications and to "Nikola Tesla", Telecommunications systems company, and an introductory visit to Telecommunication Dept. of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. The Afternoon forum offered one presentation and discussion on telecommunications and university education.
In the response to the call for papers for ConTEL'94, 62 papers have
been announced, and 53 of them were submitted.
The submissions were reviewed by the Scientific Program Committee. The
members were encouraged to obtain the additional reviews externally, so
29 reviewers have been included. Each manuscript was read by at least
two reviewers. All reviewing was done "blindly", neither authors nor
their organization were identified to any reviewer during the entire
process.
The total number of 53 papers and 135 reviewer's reports were processed.
Finally, 41 papers were accepted for the Conference and 40 of them
arrived (in camera-ready form) on time to be included in this issue.
